Motivator kick

In other news... Sarah Palin visited my school today but since the tickets sold out so fast I wasn't able to go. The place was of course packed as I know it would be because we had Hillary Clinton come back when she was running for the democratic nomination. Bill Clinton was here on another occasion as well. The reason our school gets famous people is because we are one of the top private school in the Us and we are near two major cities Toledo and Columbus OH which so it is on the way.

They had large speakers blasting "eye of the tiger" and other "motivational" songs which was what woke me up this morning before my alarm. Apparently Palin was 45mins late and the doors opened at 7am so many people were waiting for a really long time. I was also annoyed by the loud guy selling campaign buttons outside my window. I hope Joe Biden from the democratic side will be here soon. Findlay is a very republican town and i feel very small and insignifigant as a democrat sometimes.

There are some angry Ralph Nader supporters too.

I made one for smas so I made a few others i would like to share.

"As long as we have each other we'll never run out of problems." Hee hee! Yes, but they'll have fun while dealing with the problems, so that helps. ;-)

She'll be in Troy tomorrow (Thursday). Thankfully I won't be in Troy tomorrow.

I put out two Obama/Biden signs today - one in my yard and one in mom's yard (she lives on a corner and wanted me to be sure to put it at the corner so it can be seen both ways). I miss being in Minneapolis where I saw narry a McCain sign, but it is good to see some Obama signs in the area (alas, a very Republican county here). (Mom and dad are currently in California where they only just saw a McCain sticker on a car and not a single McCain sign - after 3 weeks of being there.)

Alas, in the ever-so-Republican town where I live, I recently counted 4 or 5 McCain lawn signs on one street, with only one for Obama.

Mind you, the ones that really piss me off--and usually were displayed along with the McCain signs--were the ones for, "Yes on Prop. 8," a.k.a. the latest attempt by hateful pinheads to ban gay marriage since it was legalized. The commercials have been incredibly offensive, going on about how children will have to be taught about gay marriage in public schools, basically pandering to the lowest common denominator and still-all-too-prevalent belief in more ignorant circles that gay people molest children.

Sorry, I know I'm preaching to the choir here; it still just gets on my sodding wick. Like I just said to Phlege at l'autre journal, I'll be SO glad when election season is over. =P

All three made me, laugh, Chichi, though usually it's Trina's journal that makes me get hungry! Damn, I haven't had a steak in forever. Hey, if Mom and Dad Short feel like a drive down into the Central Valley, I'd be happy to take 'em out to dinner...and maybe get myself a steak in the process. :D
